I'm an Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant with 20+ years specializing in posture and pain management.
Hi, my name is Jacob Philemon and I'm a highly experienced clinician with over 20 years of experience working in the field of Occupational Therapy.
I have treated patients in out-patient rehab, in-patient rehab, long term acute care hospitals and in skilled nursing facilities. I specialize in treating patients with musculoskeletal dysfunction, neuromuscular conditions and generalized weakness.
I have invested extensively in training with Evidence-Based medical treatment techniques including soft tissue manipulation, corrective exercise and Kinesio Taping.
I have done extensive hands on treatment approaches and studies with patients suffering with soft tissue restrictions, postural dysfunctions and pain management prior to inventing the “Slouchbegone Back Support System®”. This unique user friendly back support system was created to help people reduce spinal stress, fatigue, pain and musculoskeletal conditions caused by poor posture and inadequate ergonomic support.
I'm passionate about helping his clients relieve their pain and discomfort. His hope is to see his invention provide relief to those suffering with chronic back, neck and shoulder pain and to maintain healthy back.
How did Slouch Be Gone get started?
As an Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, I have seen hundreds if not thousands of patients over my 25 years of clinical practice. Over time, I kept hearing the same story: back, neck, shoulder pain often related to sitting at work. These people were truck drivers, secretaries, IT workers, and people who sit all day at work.
In 2015, I finally took the dive and really launched Slouch Be Gone, which is a full back support system that covers the entire area of an office chair or an automobile seat.
My goal was to solve the pain that my patient's had from sitting hours every day in just one position.
Muscles were weak and the spine was out of alignment but I knew that solving the true root of the problem, which was poor posture, that much of their symptoms could be relieved.
